Seaside School Foundation

The Seaside School Foundation was established in 2008 to benefit and support The Seaside School, Inc., a public charter school in the Florida Panhandle.

The school receives some state funding to cover basic operational costs.  However, it depends on outside financial contributions:  to finance capital building and renovation initiatives; to fund robotics, art, music, gardening, and technology and other elective programs; to purchase library books and technology equipment; and to maintain smaller class sizes in math.

We could not be able to operate Seaside School without the support of individuals and business leaders who so generously contribute to our school’s mission. Our mission is simple — to provide students in Walton County with individualized and innovative instruction, delivered by quality teachers in a community-based, community-school setting.

The foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and governed by a board of directors comprised of community and business members along with  educators.  One hundred percent of all donations directly benefit The Seaside School, Inc.

One of the ways you can help support the Seaside School, Inc. is through participation and support of the Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Race (link to race website).

We were absolutely stunned last year when the Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K Run was awarded the 2016 Grand Champion Award for “Best One Day Event” in the Perfect in South Walton awards.

Today, we were very humbled to learn that the Seaside School Foundation was nominated this year for the “Best of the Best Nonprofit Organization,” the Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K Run and Taste of the Race were nominated for the “Best Weekend Event,” and Kim Mixson was nominated for “Most Humble Hero” in the 2017 Perfect in South Walton Awards! There were many deserving organizations, events, and businesses nominated for these awards. Without question, we have a great team of volunteers, staff, sponsors, and amazing Board members!

We would greatly appreciate it if you would go online every day until August 31st and vote at

Thank you so much! We really appreciate your vote!!
