Registration Guidelines

Admissions for the following school year:

Students will be considered for admissions without regard to race, religion, national origin, gender, achievement level, or physical disability, Section 1000.05, Florida Statutes. Students with disabilities and students served in English for Speakers of Other Languages programs shall have an equal opportunity of being selected for enrollment, Section 1002.33(10)(f), Florida Statutes.

The school will be open to any student who is a resident of Walton County, entering grades five (5) through twelve (12) in a Walton County school, and any student who is a resident of Walton County and has obtained a waiver from Walton County to attend a school outside of Walton County (such as Destin). Students that live in Walton County but go to a private school in a neighboring (contiguous) county are also eligible for admission, but must show further proof that they are a Walton County resident.

Students that live outside of Walton County may apply for the lottery, but will go to the bottom of the list (if any) and remain there until all vacancies by county residents on the list have been filled.

Mission Statement

We seek to sustain an educational community where an emphasis on academic excellence is complemented by our concern for each learner’s personal growth and intellectual, aesthetic, and psychological development. The curriculum is developmentally responsive – actively engaging students in learning skills in context, integrative – directing students to connect learning to daily lives, and exploratory – enabling students to discover their abilities, interests, learning styles, and ways that they can make contributions to society.
